Format

The format for The Joe Bell Open is a two-person, best ball scramble. Handicaps will be applied based on the average scores reported by registrants and then applied to a standard formula. A "2 person" scramble is a competition format that is exactly what it sounds like: a scramble in which the teams consist of two players each. After each shot, the best of the two shots is selected and both players play from that spot, until the ball is holed. One team score is recorded.

  • Style: Two Person Best Ball Scramble
  • Handicaps: Averaged using a formula, and reviewed and adjusted by a Handicap Committee
  • Skins: Divided evenly among number of skins. If no skins, revert to #1 handicap hole and allocate to teams with lowest scores.
  • Skill Prize Holes:

    • 1st Place - $60 cash per team, plaque, and the "Caddyshack Cup"
    • 2nd Place - $50 cash per team, plaque
    • 3rd Place - $40 cash per team, plaque
    • Skill Prize Holes - $20 cash per individual, plaque
    • Other Prize Drawings - (Free round of golf for 2 teams and over $700 in gift certificates)*
